Inevitably it will pop up a few times a year no matter what I do. I've got 8 pairs of shoes in rotation now, & once they go over 200 miles I won't run more than 5-6 miles in them at a time, so I'm pretty sure that's not related. Your shoes aren't too old are they?<br /><br />Your coach also seems right, you have been running near peak shape for a while now it seems like, that might also take its toll. I guess you are also likely slowly tapering for CIM, so maybe these small aches and pains happened at the right time.
